Venari Hallerman (Rogue Trader) – John Kynnoch (Navigator) – Jesse Jarnan Morgun (Missionary) – Jon Emmaus Kore (Void Master) – Kevin GM – Neil After a fairly savage mauling by some of the native fauna, the crew regroups at the shuttle to come up with a plan. Growing weary of waiting for Kayne to come out of the refresher, Venari goes in and bangs on the door. All that’s there are a note and Kayne’s guns and armor. Kayne somehow slipped away becoming one with the jungle. The decision is made to bring down the mercenaries and let them earn their pay. While waiting for their arrival Kayne’s crew does some scanning recon with the shuttle. They find 3 separate hunting packs of Khymera and two larger creatures in a rocky cliff area. There’s some debate on the best plan of action and then they finally settle on taking the shuttle over to get eyes on the two larger targets before deciding on how to proceed. When they arrive on the scene someone notices a large hole in the rock face that appears to slope downwards. Venari suggests firing off a few rounds into the cave entrance, so the door gunner complies. Then much to everyone’s chagrin a 20-foot tall bear/bat creature comes barreling out of the entrance.
