Even as more consumers would like to cut down on plastic use, the shiny stuff is absolutely everywhere. From toothpaste to Tupperware, Steven Kurutz, features reporter for the New York Times, talks about how plastic is an especially hard habit to kick, and gives tips on where to start.
"You think you’re recycling, you think you’re dropping into the blue bin and doing your part but maybe 9 percent of plastics get recycled and now China is not taking our plastics anymore and the recycling industry is trying to figure out what to do with them," says @skurutz.
