Christian, try to recall a time when you were really confident about your own character, or the way you would act in a certain situation. Maybe you heard about someone else's behavior and thought, “I would NEVER do that!” As we'll hear today, that kind of cockiness can lead you to do exactly what you plan not to...because you're relying on your own strength to do it. In your own human weakness, you could never live righteously. By taking on Jesus' righteousness...you are gifted with the strength to take on everything that the world throws at you. You can rise up and meet those challenges...with God's power propelling you forward.
