If a person stood at the edge of a canyon, telling everyone around that his faith would save him when he jumped....would people be moved to believe in Jesus? We know that would be foolishness, and unbiblical. That's an obvious misinterpretation of the Word, but there are all kinds of subtle ways that individuals try to draw people to salvation aside from the truth. Many people have been tricked into pursuing wealth and prosperity because they've been told it's a measure of a person's faith...and their focus moves away from Jesus. He told believers to go out and share the good news. But that good news says nothing about money, or fame, or adventure...just Jesus.
