Nowhere in the Bible do we find a dictionary type definition of love. God's Word, however, does tell us through example what love is. 1 John 4:11 tells us “if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” This means that we are to love others the same way Jesus loves us. WOW! That is a big order. In fact, it is impossible unless we have first committed our lives-once for all-to the simple truth that our lives do not belong to us. Our lives belong to God. The only “right we have is the wonderful privilege of allowing His character to manifest itself through me.
