episode 46: Christy Phillips (CTO at WillowTree)
Christy Phillips is the Chief Talent Officer for WillowTree, a mobile innovation agency building products for some of the world’s leading brands. Christy leads the teams responsible for hiring the best talent from all over the country and creating a world-class employee experience. She feels fortunate to work for a company committed to creating an inclusive work environment, which has helped WillowTree earn national awards such as Fortune Magazine’s and Glassdoor’s Best Place to Work lists. Christy started her career as a software engineer for GTE, where she worked on their earliest web applications. She subsequently took a decade long sabbatical from writing software and ran a real estate sales and development business with her husband. The lure of the tech world was strong and, after returning to Virginia, Christy found her next career at WillowTree as their Director of Technical Recruiting. Many hats have been worn since then. Christy holds a BS in Management Information Systems from the University of South Florida.
