Introduction

DF: You are listening to languagecaster.com’s football-language podcast. Welcome everyone to the podcast for all lovers of the beautiful game of football, and those who want to improve their English language skills. My name’s Damian and I am in London where the weather is miserable as we have lots of wind and rain here. I’m guessing it’s a little warmer in Tokyo. Damon, how are things over there?
DB: Hi Damian. Yes, you’re right. It’s fairly warm here – and we’ve enjoyed some nice sunny weather recently. A little cloudy today though. Apologies for not making the show last week, but I’m here today and looking forward to chatting about football! I saw Liverpool secure passage to the quarters in the Champions League earlier this week. Very nervous while I was watching, but on reflection, Liverpool always looked comfortable, and I also saw Juventus turn around their impressive 2-0 first leg defeat and defeat Atlético Madrid 3-2 on aggregate. Damian, what games have you seen this week?
