Broadcasting from Jack Demseys and joined at this roundtable podcast by two of my favorite authors: the hilarious Jim Florentine and the iconic Jackie “the jokeman” Martling, along with funny man Chad Zumock. We start off talking about the early days of Jackie on the Howard Stern show and hear some stories of the Stern cast visiting different cities during syndication. Jim tells us what the Howard Stern show did for his career and his first few appearances on that show. Jim talks about promoting his book from coast to coast and having his 7-year-old son Luke go on stage to tell some jokes. Jackie and Jim take us behind the scenes of writing a comedy book, including some of the difficulties of doing an audio version. Jim Florentine has everyone in tears as he tells us about some of his pranks that went horribly wrong (hint: an abortion joke that led to the local police kicking down his door). Chad Zumock and I go complete fan boy mode and pepper these two comedic legends with questions.
