Jeanie Kayser-Jones, PhD, RN, FAAN, is professor emerita at the University of California at San Francisco School of Nursing and the author of the January 2009 article in AJN titled, “Case Study: Dying with a Stage IV Pressure Ulcer.” In this podcast, she talks with AJN editor-in-chief Diana Mason about her experience conducting research in nursing homes and some of the ethical dilemmas that arise when the researcher witnesses poor care. She also discusses who should be accountable for poor care in nursing homes.
