episode 89: 1999 | Part one | Kilometre 0

This is the first of a two-part episode of Kilometre 0 looking back at the 1999 Tour de France with Sunday Times journalist David Walsh.

We are all familiar with the story of Armstrong's confession and downfall but what about the events that led up to the 1999 Tour and that edition of the race itself?

Walsh was there and in this first part he talks to Lionel about the state of cycling and cycling journalism in the 1990s.

Kilometre 0 is supported by Hansgrohe showers and taps.

Part two will be released on Monday.
