episode 130: Sliding doors | Kilometre 0

Earlier this summer, the UCI announced that Juan Jose Cobo was guilty of a doping offence and would be stripped of his 2011 Vuelta a España title.

While Chris Froome was in hospital following his crash at the Critérium du Dauphiné he learned - almost eight years after the race had finished - that he was the Vuelta champion.

It makes him Britain’s first Grand Tour champion.

In this episode of Kilometre 0 we hear from Froome and his former Team Sky teammate Bradley Wiggins - who was the team leader that summer in Spain - as they review the 2011 Vuelta. The pair finished second and third behind Cobo, Wiggins led the race for a while, and might have held on had Cobo not been racing.

That, of course, is pure conjecture but how do Froome and Wiggins feel about the race now?

Kilometre 0 is supported by Hansgrohe showers and taps.
