This week the Baltic leaders were celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Baltic Way and discussing ways of improving cooperation between Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. In Latvia a decade-old coalition was restored at the Riga City Council, the Lithuanian Health Ministry is negotiating a purchase of four million iodine tablets to ensure the safety of its citizens in case of an incident at the Ostrovets nuclear power plant, and in a small Estonian town Aseri a religious sect from Belarus is buying property and trying to open a prayer center there.
