If you’re an avid fan of modern progressive rock, you’ve likely heard the musical contributions Charlie Cawood. He plays bass for art rock group Knifeworld and avant-psych-pop group Lost Crowns, as well as guitar for prog pop group Tonochrome. He’s also the principal backing instrumentalist and co-arranger for the British music ensemble The Mediæval Bæbes (for which he plays eight different instruments live), and a member of the “electric gamelan group” My Tricksy Spirit…and that’s only the start.

Charlie just released his sophomore solo record, Blurring Into Motion, a gorgeous collection of chamber classical music. He came on Proglodytes Podcast to talk about his musical history, how he learned to play over 20 instruments proficiently, how his solo music came about, how to work through mental health issues as an artist, and much more.
