Hear Us Roar

Join host Sara Porritt for inspired conversations with fearless Asian women about how ideas and passions can ignite transformative journeys. The Hear Us Roar podcast speaks candidly about the pressures and privileges of growing up Asian in the United States, and implores us to embrace, as well as transcend our cultural conditioning and context. We all have the power to choose how we want to define personal happiness and success. Let’s celebrates that paradigm shift as something larger than a single woman or story – even if ultimately, she is the catalyst.

02: Dawoon Kang // Tech As Emotional Connective Tissue

Coffee Meets Bagel was birthed from a need. Dawoon Kang and her two sisters knew all too well the struggles of finding a life partner in New York City, which is why they set out to create an app that was focused on fostering meaningful human connections—Coffee, for the perfect first date, and Bagel, as an ode to NYC.

I can’t help but admire Dawoon for her sharp wit and keen sense of self. It’s obvious from our conversation that her killer instincts come from not only experience, but also from a deep understanding of who she is as a woman, a sister, a daughter, and an entrepreneur. She’s a wealth of knowledge when it comes to building a thriving app in an all too cluttered environment, and is a master at cultivating genuine and meaningful interpersonal engagements through technology.

Head over to https://coffeemeetsbagel.com/ where you can read up on the app and download it on your phone! You can thank us later.
