It’s the “roaring 20s” and our heroes are back! Ready for a new decade. We celebrate this by talking about our top 5 films and TV from 2019 then looking forward to what’s in store this year. We also catch up on a ton of feedback and find time for a philosophical discussion about internet privacy and social media. All boxes ticked then. Dig in!

• Our heroes took a trip to the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall over the holidays to see a screening of Ghostbusters with a live orchestra. They were also introduced to The Venkman Prize.

  • Boris RackedOff our poet laureate with some more fine verse. Read all of the poems on our new poetry page. How high brow are we?
  • Shorey – Wrote about the US impeachment. Recommends the podcast What Trump Can Teach Us About Con Law.
  • SinkingCiderWithSophism – Writes that Caz was right about the current trend in Hollywood to remake everything and recast it with a “woke” agenda. It would be nice to see some great original characters that just happen to be gay or disabled and it not be their entire story arc.
  • Our secret Swedish friend: Writes with more about Steig Larsson and a whole lot else besides. They tell us about the amazing website Expo.se and it’s well worth a look.
  • Will – Was so aghast at Dan’s defamation of Roger Moore that he nearly crashed his car.
• Bit of good news for Dan over the Christmas period is Ryan Reynolds confirming a new Deadpool movie is in development at Marvel and it will retain it’s R rating.
• Our heroes discuss the upcoming battles between Netflix, Disney+, Amazon and all the other video services no doubt coming our way.
• Caz watched You on Netflix and recommended it.
• Our heroes have a discussion about social media and Internet privacy. How do you get the balance right? It’s probably a personal thing for everyone.
• Caz is looking forward to Ben Arranovich‘s new book coming out in February.
• Dan is reading Gammorah by Roberto Saviano and is very much enjoying it. It’s pretty old now but so good.
