Folk musicians in the U.K. have a much more liberal outlook on arrangements than we in the US. They have a curious nature and enjoy shaking things up a bit, while we Americans tend to view traditional music with more reverance, staying close to traditional presentations of the songs & tunes.
On this week's show, the first of a two-parter, we’ll hear some arrangements of folk music from the UK that have, in some cases, been radically rearranged to more modern tastes. We’ll hear The Young Tradition, The Furrow Collective, Fairport Convention and many more. New twists on traditions … this week on The Sing Out! Radio Magazine.
