Arizona EMCast

AZEMCast is THE competitive emergency medicine podcast. The host, Dr. Aaron Leetch, moderates a panel of emergency physicians who will go head to head navigating a clinical case from the Ring Down to the Work Up to the Dispo. Panelists are awarded points for their approach to the case and their clinical application of evidence-based medicine. However, points are deducted for weak arguments or reliance on experience-based medicine. The panelist with the most point at the end of the case will win the opportunity to soapbox about whatever aspect of EM they are most passionate about. We hope this podcast will model the knowledge, skills and approach that will help you take the best care of your patients. Posts ≠ medical advice http://uanow.org/participate

episode 53: February 2020 - ITE Prep - Oncologic Emergencies

Happy February everyone!

The emergency medicine in-training exam is next week and we want to make sure you get a great score by covering 2% of the test in 30 minutes. Yes, yes, you’re welcome.   Now oncology is not a huge part of the exam but cancer patients are a common occurrence in the ED. Our biggest plea is that you be aware of the specific emergencies that relate to cancer and look for them. You can always phone your friendly neighborhood oncologist for help, but recognition is the first step in management.   Best of luck on the test!   The AZEMCast Team  Email: aleetch@aemrc.arizona.edu Twitter: @arizonaemcast   https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/arizona-emcast/id685439303?mt=2 https://azemcast.podbean.com/feed/
