Travis Green

The Vancouver Canucks head coach was a first-round draft pick of the New York Islanders in 1989 and spent 14 seasons in the NHL with five teams. After his playing days he turned to coaching, rising through the ranks before being hired in 2017 as the bench boss in his home province.

Travis Green joined Jeff and Elliotte in Toronto to talk about some of the challenges he faced as a young player, what it’s like to coach in a passionate market, his relationship with GM Jim Benning, working with his goaltenders, the uniqueness of Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson, and his skills at the poker table.
