Unexpectedly Beloved
Dear friends in Christ, our world is facing a challenge the likes of which have not been seen in many of our lifetimes. In the coming weeks we will be called anew to see and acknowledge those unnamed women at the well in our own communities. In the coming weeks, we may even see ourselves in the woman at the well, paralyzed by fear and questioning what the future holds. In those moments, know that our God is the One who always meets us where we are with living water and the promise of new life. We therefore hear God’s call not in fear but as people who are empowered through the confidence of knowing that we are beloved. And so, we go. We go to the margins, we go to the unexpected beloved, we go to share God’s love.
