After Eight Show - New Music You Just Don't Hear Anywhere Else!

We had a plethora of #NewMusic in our playlist this week! An eclectic mix of original, intelligent, melodic, grown-up songs - #electronic, #rnb, #jazz, #blues and #acoustic. And mostly from artists who you have not heard of - yet! Think 'next series of Jools' - that's the kind of artists that we play. Amongst our selections, there was #NewMusic from Niia, Seth Walker, LIUN + The Science Fiction Band, Nova Norda, Chynna Lewis, SAM DOTIA, So Below, Xenia Ghali, Lemin., JFDR, Emancipator, Tired Eyes Kingdom, Appleby, Iris Temple, Nora Toutain, Julia Biel, Azure Ryder, Dubh Lee, Space Traffic and Lost and Profound. Our Luvva Cover was really interesting this week. An extremely well known Motown song was released in 1972 and did nothing. Temptations covered it the year after and it was a massive hit all over the world - possibly their best known song now. But their cover was a dramatically different version to the original. A brilliant Canadian band - Oakland Stroke - Tower of Power Tribute feat. Lou Pomanti Music - has taken the song, funked it up, and given it a feel much closer to the original version. we love it - see what you think!
