Spinning Ideas Excerpt:
Dory and Danny replied, “Good morning Dizzy!” The dump trucks settled into the morning meeting circle with Dizzy followed shortly by Ellie the excavator, Connor the Crane and finally Ronald the Roller. Once all the vehicles were ready, the contractor came out to share today’s project.
“Good morning, everyone. Today, we have a quick little project. We’re making a gravel driveway. So, some of you have the day off. Ellie you’ll scoop up the top layer and clear the area. Ronald, you’ll compress the area for the driveway to get it ready for the gravel. Danny and Dory, you’ll carry away the top layer of dirt and bring in the gravel for Ellie to spread. Ronald, you’ll smooth each layer out. Dizzy, Connor, we don’t have anything for you today. You can relax. We’ll see you when we get back.”
Dizzy’s drum started to rotate. “Wait…” she said, “I always help make driveways. Who’s going to pour the concrete?”
“Uh oh” Danny said. “Dizzy’s drum is spinning. I think she’s getting stuck.”
