This week you will hear a fresh interview with Angela Stevenson from the Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel.
Her research focuses on seagrass growing in the baltic sea. Seagrass is not only very important for the oceanic ecosystem but is also capable to store carbon, which makes the research also relevant in the context of climate change. How much seagrass does grow under the sea, and how much carbon is stored there? How can we protect the current stock to avoid the carbon being released to the environment,
which would eventually end up as CO2 in the atmosphere?
