We definitely do not spend half of this episode talking about how much we love a certain sapphic film and instead talk about why it makes a huge difference to treat women as subjects, not objects, on screen. Valerie is a film critic and freelance writer, and also a member of Portrait nation. Oh no, we did it again. We swear that's not all we talk about. There's also much discussion about negative experiences we've had in France, like when Valerie went to Cannes and saw - you guessed it - Portrait of a Lady On Fire.
