One of the senior MPs questioning the PM yesterday was the chair of the Work and Pensions Select Committee, Stephen Timms, the Labour MP for East Ham in London. He brought up the case of a couple in his constituency with two children who he said were being forced into destitution because they are here on a visa and have no access to public support until they get indefinite leave to remain.
