episode 63: Little News Ears - BoxerBlu and Bram and a Quiz - S1E63

In this episode of Little News Ears from April 23, 2020, BoxerBlu and Bram celebrate Earth Day and World Book Day! They learn about the modern style of the late William Bailey and Plato's cave allegory and why people are having unusual dreams during Covid-19. They also learn about a terrible Russian submarine explosion and why rent-own hybrid homes are troublesome. They learn about a bridge in Brazil built for tamarins because of deforestation and the dangers of being overweight at 4.

Little News Ears is a podcast and video show for parents and teachers who want young children to learn about the news. Far from a kiddie show, it was made for kids (and adults) who want to laugh! The current line-up of BoxerBlu and Bram is geared for 4 year-olds, but all ages should be able to enjoy the show. Unlike most cartoons, each year Bram will get older, so the news can grow with your children as they get older. Older episodes are always available on YouTube and on major podcasting platforms. Super parents and teachers can see hundreds of educator-curated lesson plans, quizzes, and vocabulary to teach and learn.

Little News Ears hits the big issues in news with sensitivity toward different points of view.

First time watching? Please be aware that Little News Ears aims to be positive, inspiring, challenging, funny, and educational--but it is something quite different than typical media for a 4 year old and up. Complex concepts are broken down whenever possible. War, violence, and generally nightmarish things are de-emphasized, if not ignored completely. Nevertheless, it was designed by educators in the vein of Fred Rogers teaching children about the Kennedy assassination. Though sitting near a parent is not required, it is advisable, especially for the video quizzes.
