Welcome to China where the government may be authoritarian but they also have a hard on for Jem and the Holograms. Why? Maybe because Jem is the epitome of western opulence and vanity?

Probably not… but still, in the Jem-verse, China adores glam rock bands. Which is a far more fun version of reality anyway!

As you can guess, Jem and the Holograms handles China’s culture and people with all of the nuance and careful complexity of a slinky. By which we mean they throw China off the top of a stairwell to see what happens.
