Folks, we may have done it. We may have found the absolute worst cartoon to ever pop out of the 80s animation multiverses’s womb: The Legend of Zelda animated series.

Excuuussseee us (as Link would say) for hoping that one of the most iconic video game franchises in the world would be able to produce a half-decent cartoon. Our hopes were collectively dashed because, while the Legend of Zelda games are almost always high-quality, this show is absolute trash. And that’s “trash” by Jem and the Holograms standards which is saying something.

Forget everything you know about the games (which is absolutely nothing for some of us here at Jem Girls) like how Link is generally mute, Ganon is a frightening antagonist and Princess Zelda has some air of authority. No, instead we get an incel-hero who is wildly problematic paired with princess of questionable fashion taste battling a pig-faced pro-wizard with a lot of bone-jobs.

But, as we do, we turned this fifteen minute monstrosity into an hour-long discussion into… well, a lot of things that have nothing to do with anything. With a special guest host tagging along to join in the fun!

So put down your triforces, belt up with a buddy like you would when fighting a horde of skeletons and get ready for another wild ride with your favourite Jem Girls.
