episode 97: Ep 97: Matt Berninger from The National

The National’s Matt Berninger loves his family – so much so his first solo album, Serpentine Prison, is dedicated to his dad. It’s produced by the legendary Booker T. Jones and the story goes back to his father’s record collection, and, more recently, a classic argumentative Christmas family get-together. Matt also speaks to Greg Cochrane about 2020 – how lockdown has messed with his sleep patterns and reignited his love for fishing – plus his plans for another Mistaken For Strangers movie with his brother Tom (a TV version also in the works) and how he was clueless about his bandmates Aaron and Bryce Dessners' collaborative work on Taylor Swift’s Folklore album until the night before it dropped.
