episode 13: Hot Cube

Last week, platinum-selling rapper Ice Cube met with representatives from both Donald Trump and Joe Biden in an effort to raise the profile of his "Contract With Black America," -- a set of policy proposals aimed at economic uplift for Black Americans.

When Trump's team attempted to exploit the meeting in a naked bid to peel off Black voters, the internet, well, melted down.

We spoke to Cube about what really happened, why he's not a socialist, and the radical potential of the Black voter block. Cube was joined on the panel by Director of the Institute for the Study of Race, Stratification and Political Economy at the New School Darrick Hamilton, and organizer with Black Men Build and co-founder of the Dream Defenders Philip Agnew, who offered both contrasting and complementary strategies for progress.

Brie then interviewed Cedric Humphrey -- the young Black Pennsylvania voter who, at last week's Town Hall, asked Joe Biden to address voter apathy among youths *without* using the words "ain't Black."'

The first time voter offered much needed perspective on what this election looks like to people who aren't tragically #online, and what Biden is still missing.
