Why bother with gardening?

Listen to or download this week’s podcast now

And you can subscribe to receive our podcasts directly into your inbox on the Radio Verulam Website.

It’s National Gardening Week and Romayne Hutchison, coordinator of the Transition St.Albans Open Food Gardens scheme joined me to explain why she thought gardening was so good for mental and physical health and why growing her own food was particularly satisfying. Take a look at the TSA Open Food Gardens Webpage to find out more about this friendly and informative scheme.

Caroline Wilkins told us how Sustainable St.Albans Week 2016 is now up and running. Sustainable Food will be a theme that will run along side the genereal sustainability theme this year, and groups, businesses and organizations are being invited to email sustweek@transitionstalbans.org to register their interest.

Caroline also asked that we donate to their Crowdfunder Appeal – they hope to reach out to even more people in Sustainable St.Albans Week 2016 and their ability to do this is limited by the cost of printing and publicity.
