A Little Piece Of Leather by Donnie Elbert

Label: Gateway 757
Year: 1965
Condition: M-
Price: $32.00

This is an original stock copy from the Louise Neal 45 Collection. "Leather" is one of those tunes that some Northern Soul dee-jays like to mix in with their sets — it's a dynamite dancer featuring Elbert's trademark falsetto. Note: This 45 is among those in the Neal collection that she may have actually played, and which apparently spent some of their life outside a protective sleeve. In this case, the labels grade Near Mint, near the bottom of the range for that grade, reflecting a touch of light ringwear, mainly on the A label. The vinyl grades a strong EX, reflecting some scuffs and, on the B side, a light scratch or two. The A side audio is Near Mint with very light surface noise occasionally audible, while the B side grades EX, as one of the scratches causes a light "pop" for about 8 spins near the beginning. The audio grade is for the A side only.
