Fauci, Azar and Collins are to receive the initial vaccinations on Tuesday. States are receiving fewer vaccine doses than promised. The CDC says that frontline workers and people over 75 should get the coronavirus vaccine next. The first few Moderna vaccinations happen amid global concerns about a new covid variant.
Health officials say that the new covid variant could be 70 percent more transmissible. The chief operation warp speed adviser says that there is "no hard evidence" that the new covid variant is more transmissible. Dozens of countries have banned flights from the United Kingdom over the new covid variant, where it has originated. Giroir says that there is no evidence that the United Kingdom variant will "evade" the coronavirus vaccine.
Sources are saying that some White House advisers are fearing President Donald Trump's final days and warns that "no one is sure where this is heading."
