episode 5: #3 Und, du bist auf der Hauptschule?
Warum wir für bestimmte Schulen durch unser Aussehen prädestiniert sind
Und, du bist auf der Hauptschule? Das war eine der prägendsten Momenten in meinem Leben. Damals erst 12 oder 13 gewesen, fragte mich ein älterer Herr neben zwei anderen Freundinnen (damals eine Mittelschülerin und Realschülerin), ob ich auf der Hauptschule sei. Die anderen beiden schätzte er natürlich auf die Schulen Gymnasium oder Realschule ein.
Bis heute hat es einen bitteren Nachgeschmack, wenn ich darüber nachdenke, wieso so viele Mädchen, Jungs oder Frauen, Männer oder Transgender aufgrund ihres Aussehens in bestimmte Schubladen gesteckt werden - das fängt schon sehr früh an.
Woran liegt das? Verbindet die Gesellschaft "dunkles Aussehen" mit Dummheit? "Du kannst aber gut deutsch! war auch eines der Aussagen, die mich bis heute begleitet haben.
In dieser Episode spreche ich über Unconscious Bias, Schubladendenken, die Degradierung von Kindern aufgrund ihrer Schulen und das fehlende Gespräch der Erwachsenen mit Kindern auf Augenhöhe. Natürlich gibts auch Kritik fürs Bildungssystem - eine Angewohnheit, die ich seit Jahren mit mir trage.
