episode 8: 6 Ways to Apply the Best Life Lessons of JFK (John. F. Kennedy)

“But why, some say, the Moon? Why choose this as our goal? And they may well ask, why climb the highest mountain? Why, 35 years ago, fly the Atlantic? Why does Rice play Texas? We choose to go to the Moon. We choose to go to the Moon…We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard!”

-JFK at Rice University in 1962 making his famous We Choose to Go the Moon speech which helped accelerate America’s space exploration

This podcast episode will help you apply the best life lessons and principles from JFK (John F. Kennedy).

Most people tend to choose the easy path…the path of least resistance (which isn’t always the wrong road), but choosing so all the time will likely yield less positive outcomes, according to the life lesson from John F. Kennedy. Even the best of us often choose the easier roads to travel on rather than selecting the right roads even if the terrain is a little bumpier. Never forget to enjoy yourself on this short journey through life. But remember, it’s wise to keep reminding ourselves that taking the right road tends to be a longer journey overall even if there is a bit of friction or bumps on the road (such as a longer lifespan through eating healthy and exercising, building high-quality relationships through time, commitment and understanding, self-growth through consistent learning, lasting business success through smart well-calculated market entry decisions, etc.). It takes daily effort, but we can all strive to choose the best path, from the most consequential roads in life to the daily decisions that contribute (meaningfully) to the bigger picture. Think twice about reading a good book instead of watching episode 265 of Mad Men on Netflix/Prime/Hulu/etc.
