Hope you enjoy the first of two “Best of” 2017 episodes. Originally released on September 18, 2017 the episode features game designer Sam Mustafa talking about Aurelian and his new WWII game Rommel. This ReCast features Alex and Jonathan sharing why this is a best of episode for them.  On behalf of all of us we hope that all of you have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year! Don’t worry! We’ll be back with NEW episodes of Wargaming Recon in 2017. Game Design Sam discusses his game design preferences and philosophy as previously discussed in WR 113. Sam gives a few more points to those wanting to get into this part of the hobby. Aurelian Adrian & Jonathan briefly share thoughts on the game they have played and enjoyed. Rommel Rommel is a tabletop game of great battles in the European and Mediterranean theatres of the Second World War. The player takes the role of a general commanding an entire division, or elements of several divisions, or an entire corps or even an army. Units represent companies and battalions. Tens of thousands of men and machines clash for control of miles of territory. Make decisions about the application of air power, engineering, the use of reconnaissance, the commitment of mobile reserves, and many other things. Sam take the time to talk about its conception and how it fills the gaps between all other WW2 games.   Mailbag   From Facebook Listener JackSarge said of Episode 198: Gaming Year in Review “Don’t worry Alex I have some old medicine bottles in service as “painting handles” too.” Announcements Wargaming Recon Facebook Group  A place for listeners to hang out, chat about the hobby and the show. We have seen some great discussions lately.  Some members have shared pics of minis they’re painting and taken part in a fun poll where people are voting for their favorite podcast guests so far this year.
