He doesn’t understand why Prince was considered a genius as compared to Miles Davis. Jim explains to him why he is wrong. Matt fires back with “Kind of Blue”. Jim acknowledges it as a very good “demo” album and brigs up the Prince album “Around the World in a Day” Really, what is improvisation all about? Jim doesn’t “get” it and Matt tries to explain it and why Jim is wrong. Back and forth they work their way back to Prince and his solo on “My Guitar Gently Weeps” tribute to George Harrison. Matt says “Meh” and Jim likes it. They both agree that Joe Satriani is great and could have done it just as well as Prince did. Could Prince beat up Miles Davis? Jim Thinks so.
