Charles Elliott & Eliseo Garcia of Abysmal Dawn & I have a conversation about being one of the last bands on tour before the pandemic, if they have become more of a craft beer enthusiasts, how they have been filling the void, remaining in contact with their fans, when will touring return, the impact of the pandemic on the record industry, their hangover cures, Charles' facial hair & meeting Fred Armisen.
Throughout this chat Charles was drinking North Coast Brewing's "Scrimshaw" pilsner, Eliseo was drinking 4 Buds Brewing's "Dinosaur Hair" & Matt was drinking Mellön 's "Ce Soir Lager est dans tes yeux" which was a glorious India Pale Lager that was hopped with Motueka & Nelson Sauvin Hops. This brand-new brewery are basically my neighbors & I was very stoked to be invited to visit them tonight. This brew pours out with a light yellowish veil, smashed a sweet melon nose & slaps a crisp cereal malty finish & 5e Baron 's "Améthyste". This fantastic NEIPA clocked in with a 7% ABV & poured out with a hazy yellow veil, smashed ripe mangoes on the nose, slapped tropical pineapple vibes on the finish & was an absolute delight!
