Selecta Iray

Reggae, Soca, AfroBeats & Dancehall DJ/Selecta based in Lucerne, Switzerland. Part of the Uppressor's Sound Crew. Radio Presenter English: Creativity, innovation and a lot of dedication. This is the formula with which Selecta Iray (also known from Switzerland's Sound-Collective "Uppressor's Sound") is touring from Dancehall to Dancehall. The title of “Selecta” instead of “DJ” was therefore chosen intentionally to point out Iray's unique Sound-Selection...

TECHNICALLY (Iray juggling his mind)

For quite a long time I had the idea, but somehow never found the right moment or inspiration for a "Iray mixes his mind" Live-Mix Serie.
Now I finally did the first step, motivated by one of the most brilliant Soca Love-Songs I heard in the past years, the yet unreleased Single "Technically" by Farmer Nappy and Destra. A song telling a story that most people could know from their own personal experience after a finished relationship that somehow should not and doesnt want to be really finished.... because "technically... logically" it could still work somehow until you move on.
The Mix which is a Live Mix (one-take, no edits, created, recorded and released today 1st of Nov, which was a public holiday over here ;-)) continues through all kind of love songs, a love to the significant other or to carnival and soca music. Starting with the inspirational song "technically" the story goes on, through one of the most vibing and underrated duets "Nobody like you" by Nessa Preppy and Orlando Octave, two touching duets of Patrice Roberts and Zan and many many underrated yet not well-known songs like "me & you" by Barbados' Rene King, Scottish from St. Lucia and many more.
Parts in the middle of the mix were compiled earlier this year for two friends' Soca Wedding which was very inspirational too.
The mix which started off with a unstable kind of relationship finishes with Kimba Sorzano's Hit Single "Over You" which really marks the end of an emotional connection and the transfer of this love to SOCA Music and CARNIVAL and a look forward. The circle closes.
