This is an epidemic unique to the United States, and we must act swiftly to do something about it. Nomiki opens today’s show by discussing the role the NRA has played in preventing gun control legislation. But the NRA is weaker now, and the Democrats need to take action. Then, Matthew Lawrence and Laurie Laybourn join to discuss their book Planet on Fire: A Manifesto for the Age of Environmental Breakdown, and what a meaningful response to the climate crisis should look like. Afterward, our panel with Simon Narode and Piper Winkler talks about the crisis at the border, gun control, and the filibuster.
