What is the appeal of non-translated works? Is it a way of exoticising something in an othering way? Or is it a way of divorcing parts of a story from themselves? And do videogames do this in a way that would differ from other media? In other words, is there something outside of the regressive gawking at the "other" in our enjoyment of untranslated work, or is it simply not all that interesting at all?
