episode 7: Jess Barlow: From Hong Kong to London, DIY PR and pivoting in a pandemic

Jessica Barlow started two businesses in the middle of a pandemic. The first is, changing how care is being delivered in Hackney and the second is making PR easy for startups like Freddie's Flowers and Teapigs to do themselves - she calls it the No Agency Method. Before that, she studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Central Saint Martins and worked in Advertising for brands like Adidas, Redbull, Samsung and Channel 4 and in marketing and communications for start-ups, like the Karma app, where she put words into Obama’s mouth! (Yes, really!)

We talk about her journey, challenges, pivoting a few times in her career and getting people to pay you to make mistakes.

I LIKE NETWORKING is the mentoring and networking platform for women and non-binary people in the creative industries.
