In the seventh episode of "Füchse der Wissenschaft" Jan and Sebastian invited two new PhD students from the TU Berlin, namely Karin and Tolue. They talk about how to stay motivated, why they use the fungi Aspergillus niger in their subproject HetAn, how to cultivate it and eventually how to characterize and investigate it. Furthermore they focus from now on more on the engineering part, speaking of the general setup of a bioreactor and what growth phases there are in a batch cultivation.
