We talk to Thomas Robert Lee, an emerging Canadian writer and director. His debut feature Empyrean (2016) is a science-fiction drama, told in black-and-white, about a man who experiences a psychic awakening after emerging from a coma. His sophomore feature was The Ballad of Audrey Earnshaw (2020), a folk horror tale about a mother and daughter suspected of witchcraft by their devout rural community. The Ballad of Audrey Earnshaw was produced with the participation of Telefilm Canada.
