Spotify artist make $0.00318 per stream or $3.18 for every thousand listens.

Tidal, a company founded by Jayz, pays artists $0.0125 or $12.50 per thousand.

Interestingly enough YouTube, which everyone is spending thousands of dollars on sending traffic to only pays $0.00069 per stream or $0.69 per thousand views (only after you have acquired a fixed amount of subscribers.

Let me ask you, does it make sense to continue spending hundreds of dollars with the companies that don’t have your best interest at heart?

Should your product value or worth be controlled by algorithms or people the don’t share your cultural background? Think about it! Many Caribbean promoters have had to change their marketing tactics to appease the  creators of these platforms that find our bodies and culture sexually explicit and vulgar.

Why do we continue to send traffic to their site or use their platform? Why are we not building our brand on top of their foundation?
