Drive it!: The Motor Magazine

Teething Problems - Ford aims to get its compact SUV Ecosport rolling on European roads. Tough competition - the Hyundai i10 and the Toyota Aygo are rivals when it comes to space and technology. And the Essen Motor Show presents the wildest dreams of hardcore automotive freaks.Present it! Ford EcoSportEuropean consumers have been slow to welcome the most compact of Ford's SUVs, the EcoSport. Eighteen months after its introduction, developers have now given it a facelift that addresses aesthetics, the driving experience, technology, and connectivity. The chassis was also adjusted to better suit European road conditions.Compare it! Hyundai i10 - Toyota AygoBoth are in their second generation and both run on a 1-liter, 3-cylinder engine: the Hyundai i10 and the Toyota Aygo. With the Aygo, Toyota wants to stand out with a conspicuous design. Hyundai is offering more space in its smallest model, the i10. At 3.67 meters, it is the largest of the small cars. We took a look to see which we liked better.Taste it! Audi A4 AvantAudi introduces the new generation of the A4 Avant. Its most important new feature is the optional predictive efficiency assistant. It analyzes the surroundings, like curves and speed limits, and is a big step toward autonomous driving. The new Audi A4 Avant has a drag coefficient of just 0.26, the best cw-value in its class.Examine it! Essen Motorshow 2015The Essen Motor Show is one of Europe's leading trade fairs for tuning sportscars. It presents sporty mass-produced cars, tuning trends, motor sports, vintage cars, and outlandish items. For example, the American Joe Harmon built his "Splinter" entirely out of wood. It looks like a Lamborghini and produces 500 kW. Drive it! picked out the show's highlights.Vintage! VW Scirocco II GTX 16VIn 1981, Volkswagen unveiled the Scirocco II, the second generation of the successful sport coupé. It was the first Volkswagen with a 16-valve engine, which produced 139 horsepower with just 1.8 liters capacity. It launched to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds and had a top speed of 208 km/h. And to enable it to stop just as promptly, it had disc brakes on all four wheels.
