Drive it!: The Motor Magazine

Today's most dynamic Mercedes C-class car. And what must be the sportiest tractor of all times -- a Porsche from the 1960s. Drive it! shows the wide spectrum of German production.Present it: Mercedes AMG C63 S CoupéMercedes' new coupé is the most dynamic incarnation of the C class. The sporty spearhead is the AMG version. The C 63 AMG coupé is powered by a 4-liter, 8-cylinder twin-turbocharged gasoline engine with 350 kW.But even that can be increased: the AMG S version boasts an additional 25 kW. Equipped with a maximum of 375 kW and 700 Newton meters of torque, we took the C 63 S AMG onto a racetrack to let it strut its stuff.Test it: Infiniti Q50 SAny automaker looking to do well with a mid-size sedan in Europe's competitive market needs to be bold enough to do something different to stand out from the crowd. In addition to eye-catching design, many car makers offer a broad range of engines in an attempt to draw customers. The Infiniti Q50 certainly attracts attention with its sleek design. We test the Q50 S with the 3.5-liter gasoline hybrid engine, which offers surprising performance and some highlights in the interior, too. Taste it: Opel AdamThere are things you don't necessarily expect from a 3-door town car. But the Opel Adam has them. For example the Flex Fix system, a drawer in the rear apron that you can pull out to carry your bicycle. With an adapter, it'll carry two bikes. That aims at active urban young people, as does the individually variable exterior. The Opel Adam offers both everyday practicality and an unusual, attractive design.Admire it: Seat EurocupWe go to the Circuit de Barcelona for the season final of the Seat Leon Eurocup. The one-make touring car series has been running since 2008. Last year's winner Pol Rosell was there to defend his title.Pol Rosell of Spain and Norway's Stian Paulsen were running neck and neck with 72 points each going into the final race. We join three of the spectators from Germany. They're actually professional actors, but their dream is to have a career in racing. With their freshly acquired racing license, they are there to learn from the professionals. Vintage: Porsche JuniorIt has the aerodynamic contours we'd expect of a Porsche. The differential lock and broad fenders hint at a sporting pedigree. It features lightweight construction and a low center of gravity. But this Porsche is no sports car - it's a tractor. As early as 1937, the prolific designer Ferdinand Porsche started developing a "People's Tractor" alongside the "People's Car" - the Volkswagen Beetle. By 1956, the Porsche company was offering four tractor models with varying power output and numbers of cylinders. Porsche-Diesel Motorenbau in Friedrichshafen rolled out some 120,000 tractors from 1956 to 1963. Drive It! heads out over country roads on the single-cylinder Porsche Junior.
