episode 1087: Mid Week Special: A new law that would force you to remove natural gas from your home 1 27 2021

Coming to a State near you! If you are in Washington State look at House Bill 1084. This bill will eliminate natural gas and propane from all homes by 2050. This will also limit gas companies hooking up starting in July of this year to a new home.

Let’s take a quick look at this proposed legislation and discuss how the $20,000 or more that will be placed on the homeowner to retrofit their home will affect most homeowners and low-income families.

Do you have that big 48” Gas range like I do? Go find an electric version of that…Yes that might mean a kitchen remodel. How about that barbecue? Hmmm That will go away as well.

Loving that gas fireplace this time of year? Say goodbye to that appliance. I am going to guess that most homes that have gas service are going to need a new electrical panel to support electric heat. I can see this being a $30k bill to the homeowner when its all said and done. If you see one state do this you will see many.
