episode 979: Listener questions about plumbing & then Constructing Hope with Dave Dahl 7 18 2020


We start out today's first half of the show with a caller from Reading, PA and his laundry room plumbing questions and then we tackle his vinyl siding and electrical question.

We then talk with the team at Constructing Hope. We have Pat Daniels, Executive Director, Dave (My Prison Pappy) Dahl, Founder of Dave's Killer Bread, and Bobby Hamilton, who is a graduate of the program and is now a Case Manager at Constructing Hope. They are in the middle of their fundraiser called "Leveling The Playing Field". and we are going to talk about helping people in need and their pre-apprenticeship training program and how they help people create a career in the trades.

Constructing Hope provides construction career training to 85 adults each year, place at least 65 in new careers, and provide career retention and advancement services for 60-70. They serve 25 high school youth through our summer program.

Participants are:

  • 80% Unemployed
  • 100% Low income (individual & family)
  • 65% People of color
  • 70% Justice involved
