Before the events of Acts 2, we would not have put Peter’s name in the same sentence with the word “courageous”. But then God’s Spirit came like a mighty wind and gave them the power to be bold witnesses. In this episode, we see how the religious leaders responded to the proclamation of the gospel and the resurrection. They arrested Peter and John for preaching about Jesus—but they couldn’t arrest the gospel! Do we have the courage to proclaim the wonderful, powerful name of Jesus?
Shelley reminds us that there is power in the name of Jesus, and courage comes when we spend time in the presence of Jesus. Will you be the one today bringing good news to someone who needs the gospel?
