Drive it!: The Motor Magazine

A new SUV from Audi, the SUV station wagon from Seat, Toyota's SUV with hybrid drive, and the Mercedes Vito. Drive it tests current and older vehicle types in everyday use, but also takes a nostalgic look at the 1960s.Present it: Audi SQ7Gone are the days when sports cars were recognizable by their slimline, athletic physiqueWith the new SQ7, Audi has turned its heavyweight SUV Q7 into a well-trained super-sprinter. A newly developed 4.0 TDI engine with eight cylinders delivers 320 kW. The maximum torque of 900 Nm is already achieved between 1,000 and 3,250 rpms. So the SQ7 has real power under the hood.Taste it: Seat Leon X-PerienceThe current glut of SUV models makes it hard to stand out from the crowd in this class of vehicleThat's why manufacturers are offering ever more station wagon models with an off-road look. The name of the Seat Leon X-Perience already hints at adventure. The car's off-road character is underscored by robust protective cladding on the door sills and wheel arches. Drive it! wanted to find out whether the additional cost for the plastic parts are really worthwhile in the Leon X-Perience.Test it: Toyota RAV4Toyota launches the new compact crossover SUV with optional hybrid versionThe new hybrid RAV4 is powered by a 2.5 liter gasoline engine and a high-performance electric motor. With an overall output of 145kW, the RAV4 can get from zero to 100 km/h in just over eight seconds. Toyota says the average fuel consumption is 4.9 liters 100 kilometers. Examine it: Mercedes VitoThe versatile Mercedes Vito has been around for twenty years and is currently in its third generation. The cargo station wagon comes with two wheelbase lengths, three vehicle lengths and up to four weights classes to choose from. The Vito is a multi-purpose van that can carry passengers or cargo. Our test vehicle comes with two rows of seats and a large trunk. We see how the workhorse fares in everyday situations and if it is suited to the big and small challenges of daily life.Vintage: Bizzarrini GT 5300Bizzarrini sounds even racier and more aggressive than Ferrari or Maserati. It's named for the man who designed it.Giotto Bizzarrini, who worked for Ferrari from 1957 to 1961, is one of the greatest names in the history of motorsport construction. Between 1964 and 1968, his 5300 GT was produced by hand in very limited numbers -- some sources say only 70 cars were ever built. Each one like a sculpture and clearly Italian. But this supernova on four wheels disappeared too quickly. Today, hardly anyone is familiar with these beautiful cars.
